Yongren Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The formation was named by the 3rd Party of Regional Geological Survey, Sichuan Bureau of Geology in 1973 and published by the Compiling Group of Sichuan Regional Stratigraphical Scale (1974). The type section is located at Yongren, Zongza Township, Batang County, Sichuan Province.
Synonym: (雍忍组)
Lithology and Thickness
It consists of gray, grayish white, yellowish pink, crystalline limestone. It is 976 m in thickness.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation rests conformably onto the underlying Sanze Fm
Upper contact
The formation rests conformably below the overlying Lower Devonian (Gerong Fm).
Regional extent
It is distributed in the areas of Dêgê, Batang and Bomi counties of, and from , west Sichuan. It is 600 m thick in Bomi and Zhizangmala, 470 m thick at Zanbana and Munading and gets thinner southwards stretching; it decreases to merely 180 m thick at Wunochipu and Zhangza. Northwards from the type section locality the formation is intercalated with clastic rock, phillite and slate and is 235-521 m in thickness.

Fossils
It yields anthozoa, brachiopod, gastropods, stromatopor, etc.; such as anthzoa Squameofavosites sp., Pachyfavosites sp.; Conchidium sp., Nalivkinia sp., etc.
